Job Summary & Responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Engineer – II (Backend) at MakeMyTrip, you will be at the forefront of building cutting-edge backend systems that scale to millions of users. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing backend systems using Java with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and security.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Applying deep understanding of data structures, design patterns, and asynchronous flows.
• Building and maintaining microservices-based applications.
• Optimizing performance and refactoring services for better functionality.
• Working with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases to create and optimize schemas and queries.
• Collaborating with peers to solve complex problems and sharing technical knowledge within the team.

Key Technical Skills:

• Java/J2EE expertise
• Design patterns and software architecture
• Agile methodology experience

Requirements:

• B.Tech / B.E. from a premier institute.
• 4–6 years of experience working with high-scale, tech-product companies.
• Proven experience in building large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Deep expertise in Java-based backend development.
• Experience working in fast-paced product/start-up environments.
• Strong understanding of system design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
